Registration Terms and Conditions

By registering to attend this event you are entering an agreement with Brake Conference Ltd. These terms and conditions are between Brake Conference Ltd and the person (“You”) who registers for the 6th Railway Brake and Friction Conference 2024, which will be referred to as the “Event”.

Confirmation of booking

All bookings are subject to availability and acceptance by Brake Conference Ltd. Successful bookings will be confirmed by email after Brake Conference Ltd has received the completed booking form, required fee, and after any other conditions that Brake Conference Ltd requires are met.

Once the registration booking has been confirmed by email by Brake Conference Ltd these terms and conditions will form a legally binding contract between You and Brake Conference Ltd.

Brake Conference Ltd reserves the right to refuse or accept any booking at its discretion.

Fees

All Fees for the Event (the term “Fees” includes all payments payable to Brake Conference Ltd for participation in the Event, including registration fees, exhibition fees, and sponsorship fees) are correct at the time of publication. Brake Conference Ltd reserves the right to change the Fees at any time. Changes to Fees will not affect registrations that have already been confirmed by Brake Conference Ltd. All relevant Fees are payable by credit card or bank transfer at the same time as You submit your booking form. All bookings will be considered provisional until payment has been completed and Brake Conference Ltd has confirmed the booking. You acknowledge that Brake Conference Ltd cannot guarantee places held on a provisional basis and that places may sell out.

Non-payment of any required Fees prior to the Event will result in the registration being rejected and You will be refused entry to the Event.

Changes, cancellation and postponement

Speakers, conference sessions, and timings of the Event are all subject to change.

It may be necessary for reasons beyond the control of Brake Conference Ltd to alter the content, timing and location of the Event that You have booked. If for any reason Brake Conference Ltd decides to make material changes to the Event, or cancel the event, Brake Conference Ltd is not responsible for covering transport costs, hotel or other costs, or damages, incurred by registrants. In case of cancellation of the event, Brake Conference Ltd has the right to transfer this booking to a similar event to be held in the next 12 months. Should Brake Conference Ltd be unable to provide a similar event, a refund will be made to the value of the registration price paid at the time of the booking. The refund will be made in the same form as the original payment was received (e.g credit card payment will refund to same credit card number). In the event of having to cancel the event, Brake Conference Ltd’s liability to You will be limited to the Fees that You have paid to Brake Conference Ltd.

Your booking may only be cancelled if Brake Conference Ltd receives an email from You at hello@brakefriction.org no later than 30 days before the Event and You receive an acknowledgement from Brake Conference Ltd within one week. Simply sending an email is not proof that Brake Conference Ltd has received your email. Brake Conference Ltd will not accept responsibility for any cancellation email message that is lost, delayed, or which was not received by Brake Conference Ltd for any reason whatsoever. For online payments made via the website, the ticket price will be refunded minus the booking fees. No refunds will be made for cancellations in the 29 days prior to the Event. The refund will be made in the same form as the original payment was received (e.g credit card payment will refund to same credit card number). Subject to the discretion and approval of Brake Conference Ltd a substitute delegate may be sent, in which case no cancellation charges will apply. For bank transfer payments, the ticket price will refunded minus £35 admin fee if the cancellation email is received and acknowledged no later than 30 days before the Event. No refund on bank transfer payments will be made for cancellations in the 29 days prior to the Event.

Brake Conference Ltd reserves the right, without any liability, to refuse You admission or eject You from the Event for failure to comply with these Terms; or if in Brake Conference Limited’s opinion You represent a security risk, nuisance or annoyance to the running of the Event. In such cases no refund will be given to You.
